My goal is to minister to the hearts of the people and bring them a hope for the future… a hope found only in Jesus Christ." And that’s just what Karen Chandler-Stoker has been doing since 1995. God has given her the ability to hear Him in a unique way and the tools to share that gift through music.

She hears the melodies and writes the words as they come to her, sometimes admittedly in the most unconventional ways. "I write songs unloading the washing machine, doing dishes, or just driving down the road. They just come to me like a familiar melody, but I realize that it is really something new."

She has written many original songs and has completed two CD projects. Her first CD, titled "Insides Out," is a contemporary Christian CD and really emphasizes the strong evangelical messages God gives her. This project also includes her testimony song, "The Son." Her second CD she recorded with her band, "Surrendered".

Karen Chandler-Stoker has a wonderful voice range and each CD reflects her God-given ability to make any song her own. Being a Christian performer has taken Karen to places she never thought she’d go.

She was invited by the Plainview (Texas) Women’s Chamber of Commerce to speak at one of their meetings and share with them the story of how her music career began, which she was only too happy to do.

It was at this meeting, in November 2004, that Karen unveiled her God-given idea to create the Country Gospel Post, a free newspaper about Country Gospel and other ministries. In December 2004 the first issue went into print. Each monthly issue had a  distribution of 5,000 copies in over 175 locations in Plainview and the surrounding area, as well as various locations across the United States till April of 2009.

Karen  has  been a guest on  Fred Goldsmith’s Boundless Love Hour on KJAK Radio in Lubbock, Texas numerous times, and also coordinated and co-hosted "Sounds of Celebration" with Fred Goldsmith in Running Water Draw Park during the summer of 1999. These concerts showcased local talent in an outside setting geared toward family fun. Karen aspires to do more of these in the future. She also coordinated and hosted the "Blaze In The Plains Gospel Jam" at the Fair Theater in Plainview February 2009.

A seven-time guest on Prime Time Christian Broadcasting out of Midland, Texas, Karen says she meets people quite often that say they have seen her on TV and is happy that she has had the opportunity to be a blessing to them through that venue.

In 2001, Karen had the opportunity to join hands in ministry with the Country Gospel Music Association. The Association provides an outlet for artists to showcase their talent and uplift one another and the Lord in praise and fellowship.

Karen won the 2004 Golden Heart Award for International Female New Artist of the Year when she sang, "Midnight Cry" at that year’s CGMA International Convention. "I am so blessed to be honored by my peers in this way and I pray that it will continue to open doors for more ministry opportunities."

At the CGMA International Convention in Branson, Missouri held in October 2005, she won the Golden Heart Award for International Bilingual Artist of the Year when she sang, "Blessed Are You" which is a purely praiseful song done in English and Hebrew.

Again, in July 2006, Karen won the Silver Heart Award with the CGMA for Bilingual Artist of the Year. Karen plans to continue to learn more songs in English/Hebrew in the future, along with some Spanish.

July 2007 brought more awards with the CGMA for Karen. She was  honored with the Silver Heart Award for Bilingual Artist the third year in a row, and also received the Silver Heart Award for Female Entertainer of the Year.

Karen managed and was the lead singer of "Surrendered", a Christian band that was honored with the 2007 CGMA Golden Heart Award for International Band of the Year, while performing "Glory Train", that she wrote.

She was named CGMA Psalmist of the Year in July 2010 for the Central Division for the song "I Will Wait On The Lord" which is a collection of scripture from Isaiah, Proverbs and Psalms.

Looking forward to attending more CGMA Conventions in the future, she says it’s not as much about the awards - although they are special and an honor to receive - as it is about all of the outstanding people and worship one encounters at these gatherings. "What you bring home is way more than what you left with."

Karen Chandler-Stoker is a multi-faceted artist reflecting God’s grace through her ability to reach people where they are with encouragement and humor.
